♩♪♫♬ Misheard Lyrics ♩♪♫♬

Jimmy Fallon's recent clip on misheard lyrics inspired this post. The tweets he chose are hilarious!

For the record, misheard lyrics is one of my favorite topics, even more so if the wrong lyrics fit into the theme of the song and make it funny. Such is the case with mine! About 9 years ago, I came across one of those page-a-day calendars and each day had a new set of wrong words to a song. Some were ho-hum, some made me think WTF, and some were outright hilarious! Out of all 365 entries, one has stuck with me. Someone somewhere didn't realize that the opening line to Bryan Adam's "Summer of 69" goes, "I got my first real six-string" and I'm guilty of singing what I learned from that calendar whenever I hear the song, especially in public since this particular song is in heavy rotation at most major retailers...

So, what are your best/funniest/WTF were they thinking misheard lyrics?

Musical Anhedonia

This post has been brewing for a little over a week- I heard a newscast that some people simply don't get pleasure from or enjoy music of any kind, nor does it elicit any kind of response from them. The people being studied were able to hear tonal differences, so it isn't not being able to not hear the music, it just doesn't elicit a response of any kind from them.  I have a really hard time wrapping my mind around this since music is my first love and so I did some web searches, and sure enough it is very real. Personally, there would be a tremendous void in my life without music.  One of the better articles I read is here. You can find out where you land on your responsiveness to music here,

Rock on!

For my family and friends at this weekend's pub crawls...

There's so many versions of this song. I really love The Killdares version of "Whiskey In The Jar". It has a permanent spot on my iPod.

Be safe and don't drink and drive!

Cool pic from the web

I love it!
